Your ability to show up for and actually benefit from self-care and mental hygiene practices are inextricably connected to oppressive systems.

Capitalism, white supremacy culture, the patriarchy and all the rest aren’t slowing down or quitting anytime soon.

It’s time to disrupt them and all the ways they’re present in your self-care so you can finally feel the ease, presence, and authenticity you crave.

Here’s what I know about amazing you:

You’re working your ass off in your home life, at work, and in your community. Maybe you’re a disruptor or a caregiver or both.

You’re deeply caring for the well-being of others and giving completely of yourself to support and uplift them while disrupting toxic systems.

BUT.

Often this work is never-ending and there aren’t clear boundaries between all the areas of your life.

Disruptors bring work home with them and are thinking and feeling through things in their “off-hours”. Caregivers have to deal with caregiving things during their work hours (whether working outside of the home or within) and may have to be available in evening, overnight, and early morning for support.

And the problem is…

You have a deep desire to care for yourself but have extremely limited bandwidth, capacity, time, resources, or support for you to take care of yourself the way YOU want to.

You want to do better for yourself but have a hard time breaking the cycle of caring for others and disrupting FIRST and caring for yourself SECOND.

You feel guilty saying no or enforcing boundaries because you deeply care for your work and uplifting others so you’re always connected, doing, and overcommitting.

You struggle with slowing down and learning how to rest to rejuvenate because the world is on fire.

And most likely, you were socialized to not ask for help, to keep personal struggles or hardships private, and to seem like you have everything all together all of the time.

So, what’s likely happening is…

You’re always on, always connected, always supporting, aiming for perfection, working harder than you actually need to, often pushing through sickness or feelings of unwell/burnout.

And you’re putting self-care on the back burner, piecing it together in snippets, and hanging on until the next open opportunity comes.

Essentially, you’re caring for yourself from what’s left instead of from your overflow, always doing and saying yes, and using sleep and maybe a morning/evening pranayama and meditation as your main (or only?) rest practices.

But despite your best effort, it’s not working.

Because this way of life pushes you further away from resourced, connected, and happy, and leaves you with very little for yourself.

So, the cycle continues and that limits the amount of impact you can have in the long term. And then… you’re complicit in upholding a part of the very systems designed to fail you that you’re trying to dismantle.

The reality is: showing up in this world authentically while caring for, supporting, and uplifting others ON TOP OF living in a society built on oppressive systems AND given the constant state of trauma and injustice happening daily is incredibly taxing of your mental, emotional, physical, and energetic bandwidth and capacity.

And if you’re actively bypassing yourself instead of resourcing yourself, you’ll only have depleted stores from which to give.

You won’t have enough resources to regulate yourself, regenerate your cells, and rejuvenate your being.

AND having no boundaries or not upholding them further escalates dysregulation.

All of this keeps the systems going strong and you completely drained.

Why I created this mentorship program:

Hi, I’m Steff Gallante (she/her).

Not too long ago, I felt like I was drowning in burnout, grief, unhealed trauma, and overwhelm with trying - and failing - to keep up with society’s systems. Centering self-love practices that brought me back to myself, honored my needs, capacity, and bandwidth have completely changed the way I show up in life, connect with others, enjoy my life, and the impact I have.

As an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist, I am trained to understand your individual energetic needs and help you create a routine of intentional lifestyle practices that align with your needs to help you achieve the mental, emotional, physical, and energetic well-being you desire.

What you really need to do is:

DISRUPT THE WAY THE SYSTEMS ARE IMPACTING YOUR SELF-CARE.

Understand where and how the systems are showing up in your every day.

Implement intentional and sustainable practices that align with your needs and nature.

Here’s what clients are saying about the Wholistic Self-Care Collective:

Names are withheld for confidentiality.

“Before I joined the Collective, I felt pretty scattered and stressed out.

I was juggling a really difficult summer class with client work and the pressure felt insurmountable.

This year, my focus word is "leisure," and by prioritizing this as much as I can, I've spent more time crafting, going to movies, taking long walks, and doing other things that add ease to my life. I love the recordings and really rely on the accountability to show up to live classes. It keeps me active and it's fun! When I joined, I enjoyed building the practices into my schedule in a sustainable way and I anticipate this year will be even better for building. I look forward to the monthly Collective calls and wouldn't want to miss them!”

“Steff has changed what self-care means for me.

Since working with Steff in the collective, I've learned that self-care really means to take care of oneself each and every day through small practices that help me do all the things that matter to me, including being present in my home and work life.

I have taken steps to decide what is important to me and I better understand how and why these things shift over time. I have stood up for things that are important to me. I have become more mindful of my daily habits, including my nutrition, exercise, and sleep.

Initially, I was hesitant because I thought I would have to share deeply personal things with the other members of the collective besides Steff. And while I do share things during our monthly gatherings, I know that I can choose what to share and when. Steff has graciously offered her own time with me to discuss other concerns or questions I have. She deeply respects each person's individual journeys and has taught me how to better respect other journeys that are different from mine. The collective has become a group of amazing individuals who are seeking support to be their authentic selves in a time when (the world is going to hell in a hand basket.”

“I struggle with staying present and in my body.

Steff's teachings have helped me greatly.

The 2 years before I joined the Collective were incredibly challenging for me due to worldwide, societal, and personal upheaval.

Steff's classes and teachings have become a touchstone in my life as I have started to "come back". I am now taking better care of my mental health than I ever have, and I am regularly connecting to my emotions intentionally. I am working towards specific goals that I have around self-care, fitness, and my career and Steff 's teachings have been some of the most helpful during this period. She is a generous, humble, and a fun teacher, and everyone who has the privilege of learning from Steff will be better for it.

Shift the way you interact with life.

MOST OF ALL: KEEP IT SIMPLE AND FLEXIBLE BASED ON the type of energy present, YOUR CAPACITY, BANDWIDTH, AND THE CHAOS AROUND YOU.

Actively create space for yourself for inquiry and resource yourself by meeting yourself where you are.

Confront old beliefs and truths that are no longer true, disrupt the patterns attached to them, and intentionally shed the habits that aren’t serving you.

Live your commitment to your self-care, which will naturally create supportive boundaries.

And re-evaluate and reimagine your relationship with rest, slowing down, and pausing and develop a variety of rest practices - that change with the season and your capacity.

Take back your divine right to be well, at ease, resourced to live and work as a whole, complete and happy human.

  • Nope! Your attendance is solely on your terms. You can pick and choose what you attend based on your availability, bandwidth, and capacity. There are no shoulds, guilt or shame in the Wholistic Self-Care Collective.

  • All sessions besides Zumbaⓡ are recorded and available online for the entire month.

  • Absolutely not. You have full agency over yourself and complete autonomy over how you engage in each space. You are not obligated to do anything (including sharing information) if it does not feel aligned.

  • The focus of the science of Yoga and Ayurveda is YOU and bringing you back to yourself. The practices are about building awareness, self-love, self-compassion, and connection (to yourself, community, and nature), which I believe are the necessary components of mindful living and dismantling systemic oppression in a sustainable way.

  • The Wholistic Self-Care Collective centers YOU, your needs, and your desires. It’s not about finding the perfect self-care routine and fitting your life into it. This program is about honoring your responsibilities, energetic needs, bandwidth, and capacity as we consider practices that are aligned specifically for YOU and flexible as you navigate the ups and downs of every day life. There are zero shoulds, guilt, or shame in this program. You call the shots and I walk beside you with as much or as little support as you need.

  • It’s likely you’ve tried 21-day or 1 month programs. Either you adhered to the program for the duration but could not sustain it afterward or it was too intense from the start and you didn’t “complete” it.

The Personalized Self-Care Plan 3 month program is designed for you to have space in time to explore these new practices, slowly integrate them, and learn to adjust them as needed. Also, it’s likely that within the 3 months, life will throw you curveballs so you’ll have a variety of support built-in to help you work through the challenges as life LIFES. You won’t have to do it all on your own, feel overwhelmed and alone, or end up throwing everything out the window. And at the end of the program, you can opt to continue with the Wholistic Self-Care Collective on a month-to-month basis.

THE REALITY IS: SELF-CARE & MENTAL HYGIENE PRACTICES NEED TO BE PERSONALIZED, SIMPLE, FLEXIBLE, AND ATTUNED TO YOUR ACTUAL LIFE

so you can decrease inflammation and dis-ease in your body, mind, and spirit and feel more at ease as you move through the ups and downs of life.

…With zero shoulds, guilt, pressure, or perfection! (Because that’s all bullshit from capitalism too!)

It’s time to create sustainable practices that allow you to nourish your well-being and rest so you can continue your solidarity work and shake shit up.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN THIS AND I AM HERE TO HELP YOU FIND A WAY FORWARD.
