Society's expectations are not aligned with the natural season of slowing down and it's completely messing with people's mental health.

Winter’s is here and right now, you might be feeling a whole lot of pressure going on around the holiday season, getting things done before the end of the year, and starting the new year with a bang.

And maybe you’re feeling like you need to “get your head right” so you can keep up.

But, instead of “getting your head right”, you need to recognize that this is capitalism and white supremacy at work, and it's not working for us.

These systems are not going to slow down and they’re not to be "kept up with".

So what are you going to do differently this winter to break the cycle, slow down, tend to your own self-care, and prioritize what is important to you?

Surviving Capitalism in the Winter

Disrupt go-go-go culture with self-care and rest for your winter mental wellness

Winter’s invitation to ground and turn inward is a necessary time in the cycle of life. But, we’re not encouraged or adequately supported to take advantage of this energy since dominant culture has convinced us that slowing down and resting are signs of weakness, laziness, and a lack of commitment.

And the mindf*ck is: You KNOW that for growth and productivity, you need periods of dormancy for the initial growth to occur as well as rest to regenerate for your next phase of work. But society doesn’t make it accessible.

Plus, you might be apprehensive about the winter starting because for you, there’s a heaviness, anxiousness, or maybe even a feeling of being '“off” present from December to March each year that is hard to manage.

Friend, the reason you struggle in the winter is because your body is calling out for what it needs, and systems of oppression are actively overriding that need year after year (and season after season).

Wondering how do you move forward and break the cycle with limited capacity?

It’s time to get clear on how winter affects your natural energy, your current state, and why this is an ongoing pattern.

Because the reality is, feeling off, struggling through, or straight enduring the winter is not a sign that there is something wrong with you. It’s actually a sign that you are in tune with nature and your system is not (because it hasn’t been allowed to be).

Whether you struggle with depression, anxiety, or simply a feeling of being unsettled in the winter, I am offering you a radical invitation to say enough is enough with the hamster wheel society has thrust us onto.

I am inviting you to begin listening yourself so you can make sense of how your struggle in the winter is bound up in capitalism and white supremacy culture and do things differently this time around.

In this 90-minute session you’ll walk away with:

  • A deeper understanding of yourself and how the nuances of winter affect your mental health

  • Daily self-care practices to support your overall winter mental well-being

  • Asana, pranayama, and meditation practices for harmony within yourself

    • Poses will be multi-level. You have full agency of yourself and autonomy over your practice to adjust as needed.

  • Tools and strategies for coping during challenging moments of anxiety and periods of deep sadness/lethargy

You’re not meant to struggle through or endure winter.

Align your self-care practices with YOUR energy and YOUR needs so you can start to save time and energy and finally feel more at ease.

you need to be nourished and rested so you can be well and continue to do your important work in the world.

Are you ready to shake things up this winter?
